Lake George Hotel

We offer something for everyone, whether it be a bed and a hearty meal for the weary traveller, a cold one after a hard days work or live music for the night owls, we have it all.

Let our open fire warm you this winter, either in our comfortable leather couches or on the stools by the fireside. The attractive modern renovations to our historic pub have only just been completed and they look terrific.

Then you can chillax, and enjoy great local wines and cold craft beers while chef, Seamus O’Brien and his team prepare some of the superb local produce from Gidleigh Station. Angus Beef, Dorset Lambs and Mutton, Wessex Saddleback Pork - all contribute to the menu. This is just the most incredible pub food, cooked superbly!

The Lake George Hotel is one of Australia's oldest continuously licensed hotels, opening in 1838 as the Harp Hotel. This was just a year after Bungendore itself was established in 1837.Later in the 1800's it was also known as "Chinners".

In a fascinating history the Lake George Hotel has seen name and building changes with three refurbishments. A motel added in 1964, a refurbishment in 2001 and a major remodelling and refurbishment in 2011.
